Westminster Warriors Sailing Team Sets Sail for 2024-2025!
Exciting News! The Westminster Warriors Sailing Team is thrilled to announce the start of our 2024-2025 season! We’re kicking off the year with training out of the prestigious Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC).
Get Ready to Race!
- Regatta Racing Team: Practices begin on September 12th at CGSC and will continue on Tuesdays @ 3:30 and Thursdays @ 2:30. We’re also exploring the possibility of adding a virtual classroom session to our schedule.
- Development Sailing Team: Details for the development sailing team program will be announced soon.
World-Class Coaching We’re fortunate to have two of the best coaches in the business leading our team:
Marina Cano – Head Coach: A former All-American D1 Sailor at Brown University, Marina has a strong competitive sailing background and has represented Spain in international championships.
Joe Logan – Director: A long-time member of CGSC and a retired US Coast Guard Captain, Joe brings a wealth of experience and a passion for sailing. He’s coached at numerous sailing clubs and led the Ransom Everglades School high school team to multiple national championships.
Training Partners We’ll be training alongside sailors from MAST Academy, providing our team members with a fantastic opportunity to learn from and compete against top-level sailors, and also get to know some additional students in the Miami area.
First Regatta Our inaugural regatta of the season will take place on September 28th in Hollywood, Florida. Let’s go, Warriors!
This is an incredible opportunity for our sailors to develop their skills, compete at a high level, and achieve their sailing goals. We’re excited to see what this season has in store for the Westminster Warriors Sailing Team!
